Where the hell were those $3 million when Farscape was canned? Or Firefly? What is WRONG with the world?

Farscape is crap.

Firefly, while an excellent show, didn't even get the chance to build up a fanbase that cared enough to try something like this.

Also, Farscape = crap.

uhm. Firefly fans did try something like that. They got newspaper ads, and a commercial spot, if I recall correctly. There was a whole grass-roots thing where if you went into video stores or comic book shops, there were pamphlets and cards for the "Save Firefly/Keep Flyin'" campaign.

And Farscape wasn't crap. It had some crap episodes, but even the really awful ones still had character development that made them worth watching, or were entertaining in some other way (usually the humor). Farscape had a lot of style, great writing, good stories, and awesome acting.

Enterprise had crap stories, crap writing ("Hey, I know... let's beat the time travel horse again. I know it's been dead for twenty years, but there's still some jerkey left on it."), crap acting, idiotic sexual situations targetted at the brainstem of 15 year old boys everywhere...

Whatever. Go away, Andy.

Okay, well, I didn't know Firefly fans tried anything. All I said was that it had a short run and therefore limited support, whereas Trek has thirtysomething years of fanbase standing behind it. Asking "where were the fans" when other shows were cancelled is somewhat ingenuous because of that -- most other shows simply don't have the sheer numbers or fanatacism.

That isn't a condemnation of Firefly which, as you're well aware, I enjoyed immensely. Nor is it an exaltation of Enterprise which, as you know, I also enjoy. It's just a simple statement of How Shit Is.

If you'd get off your high horse for two seconds maybe you'd notice that's basically all I said.

But as long as we're slagging each other, I found Farscape to be a juvenile show with crappy humor and characterization so dull that I never could get into it despite my sincere efforts. Which you also know all about.

So there, punk.
